Acute inflammation is a necessary response in the body but chronic inflammation is not. It’s caused by overtraining, lack of sleep and a poor diet too high in refined sugar, processed food and lacking in lean protein, leafy veggies and antioxidants. A healthy gut and moderate exercise can help ward off much of what ails us.

Start each morning with a tall glass of water. Rehydrating can help you avoid mistaking thirst for hunger and give you an energy boost, which is ideal for a morning workout. Keep a glass on your nightstand or a water bottle beside your coffeemaker as your cue to drink water first thing.

Starting a new exercise routine, eating healthier and creating a healthier lifestyle is a process. It takes work and acknowledging consistency always beats perfection.
