Acute inflammation is a necessary response in the body but chronic inflammation is not. It’s caused by overtraining, lack of sleep and a poor diet too high in refined sugar, processed food and lacking in lean protein, leafy veggies and antioxidants. A healthy gut and moderate exercise can help ward off much of what ails us.
Start each morning with a tall glass of water. Rehydrating can help you avoid mistaking thirst for hunger and give you an energy boost, which is ideal for a morning workout. Keep a glass on your nightstand or a water bottle beside your coffeemaker as your cue to drink water first thing.
If you are weighing yourself multiple times a day...stop! Obsessing over a number on the scale can turn into a very problematic pattern that can disturb the peace and happiness in your life. If you decide to weigh yourself, the scale should be a tool that helps you, not harms you.
Starting a new exercise routine, eating healthier and creating a healthier lifestyle is a process. It takes work and acknowledging consistency always beats perfection.
One of the best and easiest ways to stay healthy and moving is to walk 30 minutes a day. Don’t have 30 consecutive minutes? Break it up into manageable times.
