While the potential health benefits of coffee are well-known...sharper cognition, lower risk of developing chronic conditions like dementia, and Type 2 diabetes and even a longer lifespan, exactly how coffee might affect your weight-loss plan is a little more complicated. The best plan is still to eat nutrient dense foods, exercise, hydrate and get plenty of sleep.
When it comes to nutrition and health, you have to look at the big picture. You are not eating any holiday “indulgences” in a vacuum. You are likely eating them as part of your normal diet. All food has some nutritional benefits and some simple tweaks can make them healthier. Whats more important is what they may represent to you, like togethernes and the comfort of family.
Research shows that regular sleep and exercise improves immune function. Make sure to get yours this holiday season and stay healthy!!
The posterior chain includes some of the most important muscles in the body: our glutes, hamstrings and back muscles. These muscle groups tend to get weaker the more often we sit in front of our computers, or in our cars to drive. Exercises such as hamstring curls, deadlifts and split squats work to stretch and strengthen these areas.
It takes approximately 20 minutes from the time you’re finished eating for your body and brain to completely process the fact that you’ve eaten. . For this reason, make a habit of walking away from the table for about 20 minutes before you consider a second serving. This can give your body the time it needs to figure out whether you’re truly hungry for more or fully satiated.
